This keto lemonade tastes just like the classic summer favorite, but skips the sugar entirely so you can sip all afternoon guilt-free. Fresh lemon juice and a sugar-free sweetener give you that perfect sweet-tart balance in under 10 minutes.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup fresh lemon juice (from about 5 medium lemons)
- 4 cups cold water
- 1/3 cup powdered erythritol or monk fruit sweetener, to taste
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional, for extra brightness)
- 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
- Ice cubes, for serving
- Fresh lemon slices, for garnish
- A few fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- 1
Roll the lemons firmly on the counter to loosen the juice, then halve and squeeze them to get 3/4 cup of fresh juice. Strain out any seeds and pulp if you prefer a smooth lemonade.
- 2
In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, powdered sweetener, sea salt, and lemon zest (if using). Stir until the sweetener fully dissolves.
- 3
Pour in the cold water and stir well. Taste and adjust the sweetener, adding a little more if you like it sweeter.
- 4
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or serve immediately over plenty of ice.
- 5
Fill glasses with ice, pour the lemonade over, and garnish with lemon slices and a few mint leaves. Stir and enjoy.
Tips & notes
- Use a powdered (confectioners-style) sweetener rather than granular so it dissolves cleanly without a gritty texture. If you only have granular erythritol, dissolve it in 1/2 cup of warm water first, then cool before mixing.
- Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Stir before serving, as the juice can settle. Make a stronger concentrate by halving the water for a grab-and-go base.
- For sparkling lemonade, swap half the water for chilled club soda or sparkling water just before serving.

Frequently asked questions
- How many carbs are in keto lemonade?
- Each serving has just 1.5g net carbs and about 12 calories, with 0.2g protein and 0.1g fat. This recipe makes 4 servings (roughly one 12-ounce glass each), so the whole pitcher stays comfortably within keto limits.
- Which sweetener works best for keto lemonade?
- Powdered erythritol or monk fruit sweetener works best because it dissolves easily and has zero glycemic impact. Allulose is another great option that dissolves even more smoothly. Avoid honey, agave, or regular sugar, which will spike your carbs.
- Can I make a big batch ahead of time?
- Yes. This lemonade keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 5 days in a covered pitcher. Stir before serving since the juice can settle, and add fresh ice and garnish just before pouring to keep it crisp and cold.
